Another revelation if the universe was first studied by Charles Darwin in Tasmania. The scientist was examining rocks or tektites he thought were volcanic bombs. But they are actually extraterrestrial related. Tektites come from Meteor impacts which created splashes of melted rocks made from molten glass. Millions of tektites have been found since in a Météorite impact area from Malaysia to Tasmania.
This specimen is a “Splash-form“ tektite found in Eastern North America. Melted crystals and rocks in a splash. It has 70% silica, a glassy texture, similar to granite, and has been recorded in colors ranging in black, green, and yellow.
